The Pandemic Effect - Pilot

It is a late spring afternoon in Auckland, New Zealand and Akash is busy working with his colleagues planning a client event for next week. He gets a call from a familiar phone number but with no name to display. Akash has a faint idea of who it is from, so he gets up hastily and walks out of the office, away from others. The call is from a hiring manager of a big hotel chain, advising that they would like to offer him the position. Akash is ecstatic about the news and controlling his excitement, the first person he calls is Veena, his wife. The hotel chain has asked him to take charge of the role from the first week of December 2019. Akash and Veena are ready to celebrate this news with their 3 year old son, Rudra. 9 Years later...

I have not written a single word to express myself since 2012 but I am not sorry about it. These 9 years have been great, busy and rewarding. These 9 years having been transformational for me and my family. From a struggling migrant couple to a well-settled family in New Zealand.  What made me start writing again? Now I have time to write. Let's blame it to COVID, recently I have been made redundant from my very high profile role to a job-seeker. However, this is not going to last long, hence I am taking this in-between time to write something which will make me happy. One confession, I should have started writing from at least week one of being unemployed but I was too busy finding work. Anyways, better late than never. I would like to give this blog a new direction and start writing short stories (fictional) but could have been very much true. Stay tuned blog.. I am brewing a story..
